Gas Fitting Types

It is absolutely critical that only trained personnel disconnect and re-connect medical gas cylinders. Mishandling, not connecting the cylinders correctly, or cross connecting gases can lead to serious injury and even death.

  • do not attempt to modify the cylinder connections

  • always verify that the gas cylinder label matches the CGA fitting type for that particular gas

  • only trained personnel should replace cylinders

  • never remove or change the fittings on the gas cylinders
